China New Building Materials Industry Hangzhou Design & Research Institute (abbreviated as CNHDI) was set up in 1953 and is now located in Hangzhou, a famous tourist city of China. 

     At present, the institute reports to China National Building Materials Group Corporation (CNBM), a state-owned enterprise in charge of administrative affairs in building material industry.

    CNHDI is the first grade comprehensive engineering institute engaged in engineering design, technical consultancy, construction supervision, project management, general contracting and technology development, mechanical and electrical equipment manufacture for building materials projects, civilian building (incl. intelligent building) and environmental protection projects, such as new building materials, glass, cement, ceramics and glass fiber etc.

    The institute has strong and high-competent technical force with all specialties and rich experiences as well as capability of R&D of new technology and complete set of mechanical & electrical equipment. At present, the institute has more than 280 technical personnel. Our institute has made great contribution to the development of building materials industry and obtained profound results and splendid achievements. The institute now has enjoyed good reputation among the building materials industry at home and abroad.

     In the course of reform and opening-up to the outside world, our institute has established business relationship with many companies all over the world. In over 20 years past, the institute participated in engineering for over 70 production lines of domestic enterprises with import of complete set of equipment or key advanced technology and equipment. Through development in about 10 past years, this institute has exported technology and complete sets of equipment to Iran, Bangladesh, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, etc. in various cooperation forms.
